ABOUT FRONTIER DANCING

Frontier Dancing is like making an Early Americana quilt. Each style of dance is cut from a different fabric. Each has a different origin. All of the fabric pieces come together to form "Community Dancing". The same dancing that was enjoyed on the American Frontier.

"Frontier Dancing" is also known as "Barn Dancing". I have chosen the term "Frontier Dancing" because it was done, not only in barns, but anywhere there was enough floor space.

Unlike the "Round" or "Partner" dances, the dances in my program do not require a regular partner, so everyone can join in the fun!  "Partner" refers to the person, male or female, with whom you are interacting during the course of the dance, and "Partners" change frequently.

Frontier Dancing is a mixture of the elegance of European Courts

combined with the rustic charm of the pioneers. It is--

"silk and lace amid bales of hay".
